Our homeless shelter in Levittown, PA is in desperate need of the following items.  Please consider asking friends, neighbors, family or any group to which you belong if they can help us with:

Breakfast cereals -- all types
Bottled water

Did you find your sweetie tonight? We did ...

"Going once, going twice ..." A date with a Philadelphia Soccer Team Cheerleader for $20, do I hear $30? 40? $50? $60? How much would a guy or a gal be willing to pay for a date? We found out tonight at our "Shopping for a Sweetie" event at Oxford Valley Mall. All money raised goes to benefit our American Red Cross chapter and its charitable initiatives.
We had volunteers from our local chapter on hand to help ...

And Fox29's Jennaphr Frederick help promote and participated in the event.
She was one of the dates being auctioned off!
The event was held on the lower level of the mall, in front of Macy's.
Our view of the auction block ...
BIG sign in the middle of the mall promoting the event.
 Cute guy being auctioned off.
Pretty flowers near free refreshments - including iced tea from Starbucks and pizza!
A nice guy being auctioned - actually one of our volunteers who drives the van for our homeless shelter.
Thanks to all who attended and helped make this event a success! WE LOVE YOU ALL! : ) YOU are our sweeties!!!

NEW photos added! Plus Video From Our 2011 Annual Meeting & Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

It was thrilling to meet so many wonderful volunteers of the American Red Cross Lower Bucks County Chapter and hear their stories as they were honored and thanked for all the ways they've helped us and the people we serve. May their stories and contributions inspire you!

On June 9th, 2011, the American Red Cross Lower Bucks County Chapter held its Annual Meeting & Volunteer Appreciation Night for 2011 at Georgine's restaurant in West Bristol, PA. It was a three-hour event, so the video that's here on our blog just skims the surface. We apologize to any of the deserving volunteers whose names and accomplishments aren't represented on the video (there's a time limit on the length of videos that can be uploaded this site). Nevertheless, we think you'll agree, this video accurately shows the variety and generosity of the many people who have contributed to our chapter's work and helped us thrive as we fulfill our mission.

And here are some photos from the evening ...
Pat and Richard Thompson are shown standing with our CEO, Kendria McWilliams (center). They received the Marion Kaufer Humanitarian Award.
Bob Duaime, a volunteer of 28 years, received the Chapter Chair Award, which is the highest award.

The officers of the Council Rock North High School Red Cross Club received the Spirit of Youth Award.

Many thanks to all of our volunteers. You are the Red Cross!

Danielle Webb, our Chapter's Director of Communications

On June 3rd, 2011, the American Red Cross Lower Bucks County Chapter was proud to hold a Donor Appreciation Night sponsored by Toll Brothers in a model home at the Dutchess Farm Estates development in Newtown, PA. The event was an opportunity for board members to meet and thank major donors in attendance. In the following video, here's our CEO, Kendria McWilliams, talking about the significance of the evening's event, as well as what our Chapter has been able to accomplish recently, and personally thanking donors, staff and volunteers for helping make it all happen ...
